Was it a good thing? “Janet Jackson’s interview with today

I am a total fan who loves and adores Janet Jackson, and her family. My heart goes out to Janet, especially as watched and listened to her as she verified the content in her book, “True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself “during her interview with TODAY’s Meredith Vieira.
Although I totally believe that Janet’s book will help other’s who have relatively suffered the same fate.
I don’t think it was a good idea for Janet Jackson to take part in or do an exclusive interview with TODAY or Meredith Vieira, “being that this is one of the many networks, who have questioned and insulted the integrity and honesty of her mother Katherine, when it comes to her ability to manage the monthly proceeds paid to her mother “via her brother Michael’s estate for his children.
Don’t get me wrong, I totally honor Janet Jackson’s decision to share her life journey with the public in a book.
“I just wish she would have chosen a different media source to share it with, because this network is one of the same networks who disrespected Michael Jackson by calling him a dope addict and Jacko, while Janet Jackson and her family were mourning his death.
I also noticed how the Today Show and their sister networks were overly sympathetic, when a certain celebrity DJ life ended due to a drug over-dose.
“I watched as the Networks praised the fallen celebrity DJ for the good things he’d done for others, “again don’t get me wrong I also felt sorrow for the celebrity DJ, it’s just that their actions screamed double standard. “Especially when they continued to ridicule Janet Jackson’s brother Michael for “crimes he would never commit “against one whom he loved and cared for so dearly “a child.”But Michael has continued to be haunted by the media, although he was found innocent of the crime “it was mentioned the most on the day of his death.
Never once did the Today Show or any other networks mention Michael’s ongoing foundations, where he gave millions to those in need.
“That is until his sister Latoya Jackson was filmed at an active food pantry that was funded by her brother Michael Jackson. Latoya Jackson was shown assisting needy families with food “which is a place where I think her brother Michael would have loved to be physically active in the giving process, but he was forced to stay in the shadows because he feared media cruelty.
Society speaks often about childhood bulling, but to me Michael Jackson faced media bulling for more than a decade of his life.
And as far as Janet Jackson’s father Joseph, I think he followed in his father’s footsteps which lead to the way that he raised his own children, which has been a continuous mystery, because some of the Jackson children have stated that although their father Joseph Jackson was hard on them, they’ve said that he meant well.
Although Joseph Jackson has been named as a child abuser, the majority of the people who have spoke out in reference to his action’s are totally aware of how life was back then. There are thousands of men who abandoned their families during the 50′s and 60′s and the majority of those who stayed, they parented with a firm hand and they felt that aggression was needed in the rearing of their children, as did many single mother’s “who followed in their mothers footsteps as well.
I believe there could be several reason’s why Mr. Jackson forced his children to call him Joseph: “One of the reasons could be that Joseph’s father forced him to address him by his first name. Or maybe Joseph wanted his children to address him by his first name because he wanted to teach his children that they didn’t have to say “Yes Sir and No Mame” to the under-aged individuals who who were forced to dominate the black race during the 50′s and 60′s, because he was forced to do so during his childhood and manhood.
I’m not sure if Janet reveals the reason why Mr. Jackson forced her and her siblings to address him by his first name, but I think it’s time for the entire Jackson family to find out. In-order to heal from the past we must face it head-on, and I think Janet Jackson has taken the first step in doing so. And although the content of Janet Jackson’s book is basically for her own individual healing, and for other’s like her. I really think that Janet’s book would benefit her family as well.
